Power supply HOKASU OneLine+ (mounts into the track) (archive)

A power supply for the HOKASU OneLine+ magnetic lighting system. The universal design lets the power supply be tucked invisibly into the magnetic track. Length 275 mm. The series includes models of different power: 100 W, 150 W, 200 W.

Lighting system

The HOKASU OneLine magnetic lighting system lets different light sources be combined. By combining and rearranging luminaires with different characteristics you can create flood light and place accents of light. The universal busbar lets the luminaires be moved anywhere along its length, while a special magnet holds them securely on both horizontal and vertical planes.

Supply voltage 24V

In the magnetic system the supply voltage is carried by a conductive board running inside the aluminium housing. The voltage on the board is only 24V, which is safe when operating and replacing track luminaires. Connection to the 220V mains needs a power supply, chosen according to the number of luminaires planned for the system. Dimmable power supplies are used to support dimming.

Magnet

The OneLine lighting system is made using a neodymium magnet — a powerful permanent magnet of an alloy of the rare-earth element neodymium with boron and iron. Neodymium magnets are used, for example, in such demanding machinery as electric motors and CNC machine tools.

Neodymium magnets are all but everlasting: they lose just 1% of their magnetic force in 100 years. They can lose their properties at temperatures between 80 and 200 degrees Celsius. With cheap parts or a poor design, where the track heats up that far, this can indeed happen. But here a luminaire dropping out is less frightening than a fire. We advise choosing the maker of a magnetic lighting system with care.
